Editorial Standards

WorkoutHealthy Insider publishes health, nutrition, and celebrity fitness stories. It is owned by a company that sells gym equipment, and it runs display ads. Both of those facts could bend the writing if we let them. This page is the set of rules that keeps them from doing that. It applies to every article on this site.

Who writes here

Every article has a named person attached to it, and that person is accountable for what it says. The work is written and reviewed by Chris Pruitt, a certified ASFA personal trainer and the founder of WorkoutHealthy LLC.

Nothing publishes here without a person reading it first and signing off on it.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to research, draft, and edit, the same way we use a spell checker or a search engine. We do not publish anything a person has not read, fact checked, and approved. Sources are verified by hand. If a tool cannot show us where a fact came from, that fact does not run.

Where our facts come from

We work from primary sources whenever one exists:

  • Interviews, official accounts, and quotes the person actually gave
  • Peer reviewed research for any training, nutrition, or health claim
  • Government and standards bodies for safety and regulatory questions
  • Named publications that did the original reporting

When a claim comes from research, we say what the research actually found, including how strong the evidence is. One small study is not the same as a body of evidence, and we do not write it as though it were. We put the source next to the claim it supports rather than dumping a list of links at the bottom of the page.

Every article ends with a sources list. Studies get the year and the sample size where it matters.

Health content

Our health, nutrition, and recovery articles are written for general education. They are not medical advice, they do not diagnose anything, and they are not a substitute for talking to a doctor.

For anything involving injury, illness, pregnancy, medication, weight loss, or supplements, we stick to credible scientific sources, we describe uncertainty honestly, and we point readers to a qualified professional. We do not promise outcomes. Full terms are on our Health Disclaimer page.

Celebrity content

Every claim names a source. Every routine carries the year it was described. Inference is labeled as inference. Nobody we cover endorses us or has any tie to our business. The full policy is on How We Cover Celebrity Fitness.

Independence from money

These rules are not negotiable:

  • Advertisers have no say in what we write, what we cover, or how a story is framed.
  • Nobody can buy a mention, a headline, or a place in an article.
  • We do not accept free or loaned products in exchange for coverage.
  • Insider carries no affiliate links at all.
  • We do not run sponsored posts. If that ever changes, they will be labeled as advertising and kept separate from our reporting.
  • Ads on this site are served by an ad network. We choose where ad slots go. We do not choose which ads fill them, and we do not endorse them.

Our relationship with the store

WorkoutHealthy Insider and workouthealthy.com are both owned by WorkoutHealthy LLC. Insider does not sell anything. When an article links to the store, it is because the link is useful to the reader, it is a plain link, and there is at most one of them in an article. No article on this site is written to move product.

Dates and updates

Every article shows when it was published and when it was last meaningfully updated. We do not change a date to make an old article look fresh. When we revise what an article says, we revise the article, not just the timestamp.

Corrections

If we publish something wrong, we fix it and we say we fixed it. Email contact@workouthealthy.com with the page URL and what is inaccurate. We aim to respond within 5 business days. A correction that changes the point of an article gets a visible note on that article.
