About the Authors
Michael Chapdelaine
Michael Chapdelaine is a professional writer and a drug free, health-conscious athlete. He is both an equipped and a raw powerlifter who has competed in the American Powerlifting Federation (APF), United States Powerlifting Federation (USPF), and with USA Powerlifting (USAPL). Michael has qualified for and competed in national and international events such as the 2010 Raw Nationals, the 2011 Arnold Raw Challenge, and the 2011 State Games of America.
His achievements include a personal best, raw powerlifting total of 585 kg (1,290 lb) and he, at one time, held the California bench press record for his division. His experience with weight training stretches nearly 20 years with over 5 of those years training alongside national and international-level powerlifters such as Dave Cosnotti, Scott Mendelson, Davon Brazil, and Liz Freel.
Michael has spent a lifetime in sports with an eye toward fit living and good health. He was a high school varsity athlete in soccer and track-and-field, a collegiate letterman in rugby union, and an in-store sales associate for General Nutrition Centers.
Shannon Clark
Shannon Clark holds a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Alberta, where she specialized in Sports Performance and Psychology. In addition to her degree, she is an AFLCA certified personal trainer and has been working in the field for over 8 years now.
She is an award winning writer and has contributed well over 400 articles to a variety of different websites dedicated towards muscle building and athletic performance.
Shannon has spent the better part of her adult years researching and studying the top methods to build lean muscle as well as achieve maximum states of leanness. She currently works with a variety of different clients with various goal sets, helping them reach whatever physique goals they have set for themselves.
Finally, amongst all her research she’s also made a test subject of herself trying out many of the different training and diet techniques she’s come across. From Ketogenic diets to Intermittent Fasting protocols, she’s always anxious to find out what type of results the latest protocols will deliver.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, experimenting with new recipes, weight lifting, and hiking.

Jordann Campose
Jordann Campose is a fitness enthusiast and instructor. He currently works as a health care professional with part time work as a fitness instructor and weight loss teacher for people seeking results that will help boost their confidence and strengthen their whole being. His knowledge in fitness was acquired by endless research, reading and comparison of various sources like magazines, fitness encyclopedias, blogs and various sources from the internet. His knowledge in body building was acquired through the help of his mentors, working as fitness instructors in his hometown in La Union, Philippines. He graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in nursing but continued to pursue his passion for writing and body building.
His fitness principle lies in the execution of basic exercises with use of simple machines that mimic the basic and natural movements in the body. This is to help maintain the stress and strict movement of the muscles allowing maximal growth and strength development.
Whitney Dickinson
Whitney Dickinson grew up with a passion for sports and fitness, immersing herself into every sport she could find. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and her Master of Science in Kinesiology. After becoming a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, she began working as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, and she eventually owned a personal training studio.
In 2010 she left full-time work in the fitness field to care for her husband who was disabled in a Army combat-related helicopter crash. She now works primarily from home as a freelance writer focusing on health and fitness, and maintains her certifications by doing in-home personal training two days a week.
In her free time Whitney enjoys most outdoor activities, playing fantasy football, doing crafts, and volunteering at her church and her son’s school.
Krista Gray
Krista Gray: Certified Master Personal Trainer, Nutrition Consultant and Life Coach with over sixteen years of experience. Krista prides herself on creating programs that are fun and effective. She is the creator of Tribal Cirque Belly Dance and specializes in out of the box fitness programing. Chinese pole acrobatics, non-traditional strength training methodology, martial arts, cross fitness, boot camp design, aerial silk programs, aerial hoop and trapeze. She is the creator, owner, and operator of a highly successful Circus arts and Fitness Studio in Alaska. She works as a Fitness program director, Dance and Gymnastics coach, Post-Rehab Recovery Trainer, Nutrition Consultant and Life Coach and is a widely published fitness and nutrition expert. Krista is taking fitness programing to whole new heights and engaging exercisers of all ages and fitness levels to embrace lifelong activity that is both interesting and sustainable.
Shauna Labelle
My Grandfather always used to say “You only get one body. Be good to it and it will be good to you.” That statement ignited a fire in my soul and for the past 12 years I’ve been passionately dedicated to helping others find that spark too. My love of sports began as a toddler at my very first swimming lesson and has carried on throughout the years in the forms of aerobics, running, weight training, cycling and triathlon. I believe that my diverse athletic background along with my continuous and extensive education makes me a strong, creative personal trainer capable of designing programs for numerous demographics that ensure success. My approach to fitness is to make it fun and effective while encompassing the physical, spiritual and mental components of health and wellness. By utilizing your strengths and improving your weaknesses, while understanding the mental and emotional demands of your workouts, you will be equipped with the tools to meet and exceed the most lofty of goals.
Shauna has worked with extensive demographics including a wide range of goals and requirements. She has coached men, women, children, seniors, ranging in age from 9 to 90. Shauna has incorporated her knowledge and drawn on personal experience to create programs for pre/post natal clients, professional bodybuilders, triathletes, business executives that just want to lose a few pounds, seniors that want to have the energy to play with their grandchildren and everything in between.
Emma Jayne Lions
Emma holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) degree and has over 10 years experience in the health and fitness industry. During this time, Emma has worked as a personal trainer, sports trainer (TAC Cup U18 AFL), and a health promotion officer.
After completing a Diploma of Publishing (Professional Book Editing, Proofreading and Publishing) in 2009, Emma started her own proofreading and editing business.

Josh Morrison
Josh Morrison is the owner of Optimum Performance Training in Mt Zion, IL. He has a M.S. in Performance Enhancement, B.A. in Physical Education, certified as an NASM-PES, NASE-CSSE, NASM-CPT, NESTA-CPT, Human Kinetics-Advanced Exercise Nutrition and APEX-FitPro. Josh played football at Blackburn College as a four year starting defensive back and has been training for over 8 years. Raychelle Muhammad
Raychelle Muhammad holds a B.S. in Sports Management from California University of Pennsylvania. Her studies focused on wellness and fitness. She is also an NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Raychelle has worked as a trainer since 2006 and specializes in full body workouts, general nutrition, and flexibility training.
